Types of Probes

High Oil Conductivity Probe

The High Oil Conductivity Probe is designed to detect the presence of oil or water and will only cause an alarm when excessive oil is present.

The depth of oil allowed to accumulate inside a tank before an alarm is raised will be determined by the position of the probe below the static liquid level.

The two pieces of stainless steel act as conductors; when the probe is fully immersed in water, a circuit is formed between the conductors. When one or both conductors are out of water, i.e. in oil, the circuit is broken, and a signal is returned to the separator alarm panel.

High Level Liquid Probe

The High Level Liquid Probe is designed to monitor for excessive liquid levels within tanks, separators, wash-down units or cesspools.

The sensor uses a simple float switch design, which, when triggered, will send an alarm signal back to the control panel.

Silt Probe

Too much silt in a separator tank reduces its storage capacity and, therefore, increases the risk of a pollution incident.

The Darcy Silt Probe is simply suspended within the separator tank to a depth required to detect the maximum amount of silt allowed.

The new design silt probe is designed with a robust housing providing greater protection to the optical sensors.

Capacitive FOG Probe

The Capacitive FOG Probe is designed to monitor for excessive fat, oil and grease (FOG) levels within grease separator tanks.

The sensor works by detecting a change in its electrical field’s capacitance, which occurs when grease, oil or any material with a different dielectric constant than water enters the sensor’s range. When the sensor is triggered, it sends an alarm signal back to the control panel.

Level Regulator Probe

The level regulator probe is a sealed IP67 float switch. This is primarily used in liquids that have a lot of suspended particles, such as cess pits and septic tanks that would otherwise clog a traditional float switch.
